Hank Aaron
 Baseball Player
 
Hank Aaron (born 1934) was major league baseball's leading home-run hitter with a career total of 755 upon his retirement in 1976. He broke ground for the participation of African Americans in professional sports and also spoke out in support of opportunities for blacks as managers and office personnel. At the Atlanta Braves opening home game in 2014, Aaron was honored for the fortieth anniversary of his record-breaking home run in 1974.
 
Most Valuable Player Award, 1957; inducted into Baseball Hall of Fame, 1982; named to Major League Baseball's All-Century Team, 1999; Presidential Medal of Freedom, 2002.
